Jumu`ah Khutbah

A`udhu billahi min ash-Shaytaan i`r-rajeem. Bismi`lLahi `r-Rahmani `r-Raheem. Ati`ooL'lah wa at`ioo'r-Rasoola wa uli ‘l-amri minkum.

Obey Allah, obey the Prophet, and obey those in authority among you. (4:59)

O Muslims, ayyuha 'l-muslimoon! Today is Jumu'ah, the day Allah chose for his beloved servant, Sayyidina Muhammad (s), and for Muslims to come together under one roof.

`Ani 'n-nabi (s) qaal, sayyadu 'l-ayyaami yawmu 'l-jumuati yawmu 'l-jumu`ati `azhamu min yawm a 'n-nahri wa 'l-fitri, "The master of the seven days of the week is the day of Jumu'ah which, to Allah (swt), is greater than that of Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Nahr, Hajj day. In that day five different elements happened: feehi khuliqa Adam, in it Allah (swt) created Adam (a), wa feehi uhbita min al-Jannah, and in it Allah (swt) brought him back to Earth from Paradise, wa feehi tuwuffiyyah, and he died on a Jumu`ah. wa feehi sa`atun la yasalul `abdu fi'llahi shayan illa `aataniyyah, And in it there is one hour sa`atun mubarakan fee yawmu 'l-Jumu`ah, one hour in the day of Jumu`ah in which if anyone asks Allah (swt) in that hour and on that day Allah (swt) will give him!

"O Muslims! Ask Allah what you want for it is rewarded!" It is an honored and rewarded message to all of us. Anyone who asks during Jumu'ah day, Allah will answer him said Sayyidina Muhammad (s.) (Narrated by Saad bin Ibaadah, musnad of Ahmed from Saheeh al-Bukhari.)

ألا أنبئكم بأهل الجنة ؟ الضعفاء المظلومون، ألا أنبئكم بأهل النار كل شديد جعظري .( إسناده صحيح على شرط مسلم

O Muslims, Prophet (s) asked his Sahaaba (r), An-nabi (s) qaala li 's-sahhaba alaa ukhbirukum bi ahli 'l-jannah - Do you want me to tell who are the people of Paradise? Do you want me to tell you the kings of Jannah? He said, rajulun da`eefun mustada`f law aqsam `ala allahi la abarrah, "Someone who people dislike, who people think that one knows nothing. He has dirty hair, looks ugly, is greasy and dusty, but his heart is pure. He is the king of Paradise, he is the one who owns Paradise, and if he will ask Allah, Allah will accept from him."

Who humbles himself to Allah (swt) and to His Habeeb, al-Mustafa (s), Allah will raise up the one who shows humbleness to Ummatun Nabi (s).

And Prophet (s) asked, "Do you want me to tell you what is better for you?" and the Sahaaba wanted to listen. "The best is the one who is good and generous," meaning his heart opens for everyone. Prophet (s) said in another hadith, "People are like the teeth of a comb, equal. There is no difference between Arabs and non-Arabs except through sincerity."

Have taqwa (piety) and Allah (s) will teach! Don’t be arrogant!

And then Prophet (s) said, "And the one who is bad among you is the one who does no khair (good) and is always accusing you! O Muslims, if someone comes to you accusing someone else who is Muslim, don’t listen to that person, but investigate if it is correct or not, because you don’t want to regret it later."

Then you will be regretting! First ask. Don’t accuse each other, we are Muslim.

O Mankind! We have created you from a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes, that you may know one another. Verily, the most honorable of you with Allah is that (believer) who has taqwa. Verily, Allah is All-Knowing, All-Aware. Suratu 'l-Hujuraat (49:13)

The best among you, are those who come together, not making different groups: this is different group, that one a different group, every group likes what they have and that is wrong! Be hizbullah, it means be with Allah (s) and be hizb un-nabi, support Prophet (s). Support everything Islamic and refuse everything that is not Islamic.

O Muslims! Prophet (s) said, "Do you want me to tell you what is the easiest of worship? It is not difficult on the body. (It is) to keep silent!"

Don’t talk, because when you talk you make problems! Like talk shows on TV, they confuse people. Isma, listen; first listen, then obey, because you don’t want to listen to something wrong. So Prophet (s) said the best is to keep quiet. And our way is to speak with respect to everyone, not to diminish anyone. Always respect your Muslim brothers. Don’t look at your brothers and sisters in a bad way. Look in the best way.

And here Prophet (s) is giving us something that everyone asked for. If you have difficulty, what do you say?

Prophet (s) said, "Do you want me to tell you something that will benefit if someone has a difficulty in his life, an affliction? If he will read that Allah will make it easy for him. That is the "Du`a of Dhu 'l-Noon". When Sayyidina Yunus (a) was swallowed by the whale, he remembered Allah (swt) with that du`a, and Prophet (s) recommends that for everyone. Allah (swt) taught Sayyidina Yunus to recite this du`a, after which Allah (swt) ordered the whale to throw him out and then all his people believed in Sayyidina Yunus (a).

لَّا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنتَ سُبْحَانَكَ إِنِّي كُنتُ مِنَ الظَّالِمِينَ

La ilaaha illa Anta Subhaanak! Innee kuntu mina 'zh-zhaalimeen

There is no god but Thou: glory to Thee: I was indeed an oppressor to myself. (Suratu 'l-Anbiya, 21:87)

May Allah (swt) forgive us. May Allah (swt) bless us.

And I will end with this, what Sayyidina Ali (r) mentioned:

I saw my Lord

with the eyes of my heart

and I said,

"No doubt it is You;

You are the One

who encompassed every 'where'

so that no 'where'

except You are there.

'Where' has no 'where'

in regards to You,

for 'where' to know

where You are,

nor can imagination

imagine You,

for imagination to know

where You are.

Your knowledge

encompasses everything,

so that everything I see

is You,

and in my annihilation

is the annihilation

of my annihilation,

and in my annihilation

I found You."
