Mawlana Shaykh Hisham Kabbani

12 May 2010 Jakarta, Indonesia

Suhbah at Masjid Baitul Ihsan

As-salaamu `alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakaatuh. Bismillahi 'r-Rahmani 'r-Raheem. Alhamdulilahi Rabbi 'l-`alameen was-salaatu was-salaam `ala ashrafi 'l-mursaleen, Sayyidina wa Nabiyyina Muhammadin wa `ala aalihi wa sahbihee ajma`een.

يس وَالْقُرْآنِ الْحَكِيمِ إِنَّكَ لَمِنَ الْمُرْسَلِينَ

Bismillahi 'r-Rahmani 'r-Raheem.

YaSeen, wa 'l-qur’ani 'l-hakeem innaka lamin al-mursaleen

Oh Muhammad (s)! Surely you are My messenger! (YaSeen 36:1)

O Muslims! Ayyuha 'l-muslimoon! Ayyuha 'l-mu'minoon! Yaa `IbaadAllah! Ittaqullah fee maa amar. ...O Muslims! Thank Allah (swt) that He sent His Messenger, Sayyidina Muhammad (s)! (Mawlana stands.) Alfu, alfu salaatu wa salam `alayka yaa Sayyidee, yaa Rasoolullah! Yaa Rahmatan li 'l-`alameen! Adrikna yaa Rasoolullah! Madad yaa Habeebullah, madad! Madad yaa Rasoolullah, madad! (Mawlana sits.)

We ask support from Prophet (s) in order that we can sit and listen. We are asking support from our shaykh, may Allah bless his soul, Grandshaykh `AbdAllah al-Fa'iz ad-Daghestani, and our shaykh, Sayyidee Shaykh Nazim Adil al-Haqqani, may Allah (swt) grant him long life, that they will bless us with their baraka and bless our hearts in order that we may be able to say something that will benefit you.

I am coming to speak to you, and I did not prepare anything and we are asking those whom they have the power that they can send inspirations to your heart, to send to my heart also in order that we can say something that will benefit us.

Allah swt said in Holy Quran:

وَقُلِ اعْمَلُواْ فَسَيَرَى اللّهُ عَمَلَكُمْ وَرَسُولُهُ وَالْمُؤْمِنُونَ

wa qul `imaloo fa-sayara'Llahu `amalakum wa rasoolihi w'al-mumineen.

And say: "Work (righteousness): soon will Allah observe your work, and His Messenger, and the Believers. (9:105)

Allah will see what we have achieved and His prophet. They are going to see what you have achieved. If you have done something for the benefit of the Ummah, Allah is seeing and the Prophet (s) is seeing. That means there is nothing that Allah will not mention to you on the Day of Judgment that He will say, "O my servant! You did that and you did that and you did that." So we have to be very careful what we are doing in dunya because there is a Day coming that we will be judged. And Allah swt said wa sayar-Allah, "Allah is seeing ad saw and is going to see what you have done wa rasooluh, and His Prophet. And so He added "waw," which is "harf `atif," onto what Allah will see, then Prophet will see. Allah will see someone to whom He the opportunity to see your `amal and to ask forgiveness of Allah on your behalf.

It means that as the Prophet (s) said, he said:

تعرض علي أعمالكم فإن رأيت خيرا حمدت الله وإن رأيت غير ذلك استغفرت الله لك

tu`aradu `alayya `amalukum fa in ra'itu khayran hamadt 'Llah, wa in ra'itu ghayra dhaalika astaghfarta lahum.

I observe your `amal (deeds) and whatever I see of good, I praise Allah, and whatever I found other than that, I sought forgiveness for them.

Why he observes. Why he is granted that? Because he is worried for his Ummah. He wants the best for his nation. He doesn't want anyone to be lost and he wants all of them to be rewarded and that is what he is asking and he asked and he will be asking in the Day of Judgment, saying, "My ummah! My ummah! Don't leave them except for me to intercede for them."

And `azhamat an-Nabi (the Greatness of the Prophet [s]) cannot be described. You mashaa-Allah the country of happiness, because you are celebrating Prophet every day by remembering his Birthday.

Salloo `alaa an-nabi! Salli `layh, Salli `alayh! Higher! higher.

Salloo `alayh! Salli `ala an-Nabi, Salli `ala an-Nabi!

O Muslims! If we understand a little bit of what awliyaaullah have said, we will be amazed. Allah said in Holy Quran:

وَلَوْ أَنَّهُمْ إِذ ظَّلَمُواْ أَنفُسَهُمْ جَآؤُوكَ فَاسْتَغْفَرُواْ اللّهَ وَاسْتَغْفَرَ لَهُمُ الرَّسُولُ لَوَجَدُواْ اللّهَ تَوَّابًا رَّحِيمًا

wa law annahum idh zhalamoo anfusahum jaaooka f 'astaghfaroollaha w 'astaghfara lahumu 'r-rasoolu la-wajadoollaha tawwaaban raheema.

If they had only, when they were unjust to themselves, come unto thee and asked Allah's forgiveness, and the Messenger had asked forgiveness for them,

they would have found Allah indeed Oft-returning, Most Merciful. (4:64)

Idh zhalamoo anfusahum, "If they are oppressors to themselves," then what? Jaaooka, in Arabic, ay taqadama bil-`amal ila hadrati 'n-Nabi (s). This means he moved to the presence of the Prophet (s). He didn't say jaooka faqad, only for them to do that in their minds. He said jaooka, “they came to you.” This means that if any Muslim knows he has committed a sin, and he comes to the Presence fo the Prophet (s), not only in his mind, but that moment Allah will create a power that takes him physically to presence of the Prophet (s). Because jaaook - al-kaf li ’n-nabi. Because we say "as-salaam `alayka yaa Rasoolullah" saying salaams to you yaa Muhamamd. "Yaa Muhammad (s) we see you, we are coming to you," so jaooka, means "we reach him," not by car or by walking but by super heavenly power that Allah will give to take you to Madinatu 'l-Munawwara, from your place to his presence in Madinatu 'l-Munawwara.

Sayyidina `Asif ibn al-Barkhiya, the minister and a wali, was helping Sayyidina Sulayman (a). When Sayyidina Sulayman asked in a meeting, like this one, “I want someone between you who can bring me the throne of the Queen of Sheba, before she arrives here. Can anyone bring that throne?” There was a giant jinn from maradata 'l-jinn. There are jinn giants, higher than airplanes fly today. They are from Earth 10 miles or 30 miles, or even hundreds of miles tall. They could move cities to Sayyidina Sulayman (a). He asked can you bring the Throne of Sheba? So he said that he can bring it. They move, whirling like tornadoes. You see that tornado, that is the movement of jinn together, sometimes it is 250 kilometers per hour. If you look inside the tornadoes, you can see what is there in the eye, there are huge jinn spinning. Sayyidina Sulayman (a) said, “Can you get me the throne?” “Yes, but it will take 24 hours, qabl an-taqoomu min maqaamik. After your meeting with the Queen of Sheba, I will get it," said the jinn. “No not after, I need it before she comes," said Sulayman (a). Then one wali, not a high wali, but a normal wali, said “I can get it to you in the blink of an eye.” “Get it," said Sulayman (a). And he closed his eyes and he opened them and the throne was there. Kayfa ja'a al-`arsh? That is the word here, ja'a, "came". How did he get it there?

The one that brought the throne of Bilqees to Sayyidina Sulayman (a) was a wali for Sayyidina Sulayman [i.e. a wali in that time under the power and auspices of Sayyidina Sulyaman and the divine dispensation in his time.]

So, does not Prophet (s) have awliya that can bring those who are doing istighfaar, in the blink of an eye to the presence of the Prophet (s)? There are awliyaaullah assigned especially for anyone who says istighfaar, by the power of angels, they move them, if they are in millions even, they move them in the presence of Prophet and the Prophet (s) looks at them and he sees everyone separately from the other all in the same moment, he can see all of them and none of them are interfering with the other; they come in the blink of an eye and the Prophet (s) asks them to do istighfaar in his presence and he will do istighfaar for them on their behalf to Allah swt. And then they will be returned with the power of awliyaaullah, to their places, and they have been cleaned. As Allah said:wa law annahum idh zhalamoo anfusahum jaaooka f 'astaghfaroollaha w 'astaghfara lahumu 'r-rasoolu la-wajadoollaha tawwaaban raheema.

Allah (swt) sends, as he sends angels on Earth, to check who is sitting in such an association, in such a majlis. Because angels go roaming the Earth looking for someone who is sitting and making dhikrullah. Did we ask ourselves, “From how far of a distance these angels are coming to be sitting with us?”

Now a little bit let us think (in terms of) physics. The distance between the Earth and the moon is 300,000 kilometers. The distance between the Earth and the sun is nearly 50 million kilometers. How long will it take you if you want to walk from the moon to Earth? If you turn the whole Earth around it is 40,000 kilometers. This means if you are to come from the moon to the Earth walking, you would need to walk ten times as much as you would around the Earth. If you go by plane, it is quicker, if you go by car it would take longer. If you want to walk, you might die before you finish. Still we are on Earth. To go around the Earth walking, you might die and still you would not be finished. It would take you hundreds of years, you would die.

They used to go for hajj from Central Asia, from Uzbekistan, from Bukhara and it would take them several years walking. If you would go through Indonesia swimming to Mecca, it might take you ten years. That Earth needs that time. If you want to walk from the moon, from the sun, from Jupiter, or from Mars to the Earth, you cannot do it. But do the angels have a house or a place on the sun or are they coming from the heavens? For sure, from the Heavens. Allah is sending them and they are coming in the blink of an eye to this association. If angels are coming in the blink of an eye, can't angels take the one who is making istighfaar to the presence of the Prophet (s) in the blink of an eye? Of course, because it is an order from Allah (swt) telling his Prophet (s). Allah said, wa law annahum idh zhalamoo anfusahum jaaooka f 'astaghfaroollaha w 'astaghfara lahumu 'r-rasoolu “If they are oppressors to themselves,..” This means if they do something wrong, because in the time of the Prophet (s), some of the Sahaabah (r) would do something wrong, then Prophet (s) would not speak to them, then they would know that they had done something wrong. So they would came to the presence of the Prophet (s) and speak to him, and Prophet (s) would ask forgiveness them in their presence and in the Presence of Allah . This means there are assigned awliya for the Prophet (s). They have this power. They can move mountains, even human beings in millions, anywhere in the world. People say astaghfirullah, they will take it to the presence of the Prophet (s). This is because the only way it will be accepted, when it is in the presence of the Prophet (s).

وَقُلِ اعْمَلُواْ فَسَيَرَى اللّهُ عَمَلَكُمْ وَرَسُولُهُ وَالْمُؤْمِنُونَ

wa qul `imaloo fa-sayara'Llahu `amalakum wa rasoolihi w'al-mumineen.

And say: "Work (righteousness): Soon will Allah observe your work, and His Messenger, and the Believers. (9:105)

Allah (swt) said, “Allah and his Prophet (s) are going to see what you have done.” It means, not only on the Day of Judgment, but in any moment. As soon as you are doing something, Allah sees and He will either reward or punish. Likewise, the Prophet (s) sees and will either reward or punish on your behalf. He said, “I observe the `amal of my ummah." This means that immediately, you are in his (s) holy presence. "If he sees something good, he says, 'Ummatee, ummatee, my people did something good.' If he sees something bad, he says, 'They did something bad.'" This means we are in the presence of the Prophet (s) at all times! If you do istighfaar and praise Muhammad (s), he will forgive you. Salloo `ala an-Nabi! Salloo `alay! (Mawlana stands.) Allahuma salli `ala Muhammad wa `ala aali Muhammad!! (Mawlana sits.)

We are yateem! We are orphans! An orphan needs a father and a mother.

Allah said in the Holy Qur'an, (Mawlana stands) "Yaa Muhammad (s)," yaa Sayyidee, yaa RasoolAllah, "yaa rahmatan li 'l-`alameen" and "wa 'd-duha wal-layli `idha saja." He is giving an oath by the light, by the dawn, by the morning. When the sun is shining, when the noor of the day is coming up, when the dark of the night and the noor, light and beauty of the Names and Attributes appear, the heart goes into sajdah. He is giving an oath by the light and by the dawn. "By the morning" means when the sun is shining, when the dawn is coming and when وَاللَّيْلِ إِذَا سَجَى w 'al-layli idhaa sajaa, "And by the night when it is still." (93:2) The night is in sajdah to Allah, yaa Muhammad (s).
