An Important Warning to Mureeds

Mawlana Shaykh Hisham Kabbani

7 April 2011 Lefke, Cyprus

Suhbah after Salaat al-Isha

A`oodhu billahi min ash-Shaytaani ‘r-rajim. Bismillahi 'r-Rahmaani 'r-Raheem.

Nawaytu 'l-arba`een, nawaytu 'l-`itikaaf, nawaytu 'l-khalwah, nawaytu 'l-`uzlah,

nawaytu 'r-riyaadah, nawaytu 's-sulook, lillahi ta`ala fee haadha 'l-masjid.

Alhamdulillahi Rabbi 'l-`Alameen, was-salaatu was-salaamu `ala ashrafa 'l-Mursaleen, Sayyidina wa Nabiyyina Muhammadin wa `alaa aalihi wa sahbihi ajma`een. bin niyyah Sayyidi Shaykh Nazim al-Haqqani.

First of all, I would like to welcome the important guests here; we pray for a long life and a happy life and pray for their leaders to be guided to right decisions.

Today is Thursday evening, the night of Friday, and I heard many times from Grandshaykh and Mawlana Shaykh that they were observing always this night, because there is one hour on Friday in which the du`a is not rejected. So awliayaullah were always looking for that du`a and the perfect time to make it in one hour of 24 hours and it was not known. Many scholars were giving different times, but I heard from Grandshaykh, may Allah bless his soul, and from Mawlana Shaykh, that the hour is between `Asr and Maghrib, the hour that comes one hour before Maghrib. Grandshaykh said, in one seclusion he was asking Prophet (s) through the spiritual realm, “Yaa Rasoolullah! adrikna unzurna, look at us, give us from your oceans which hour is the right hour.” Grandshaykh said it was that hour, one hour before Maghrib.

Allah granted us 52 hours like this in one year, from one Friday to another, in which he did not

give to any other nation! Dhikrullah in time of Grandshaykh was conducted between `Asr and Maghrib. Now the tajalli is changed and dhikrullah is being done on the night of Friday, which means there are heavenly changes observed by awliyaullah, and there will be another change soon.

For many years, Grandshaykh and Mawlana Shaykh mentioned Sayyidina Mahdi (a). Many people these days are like a fish out of the ocean. They heard Mawlana Shaykh speak strongly about Sayyidina Mahdi (a) and they are struggling, but they don't know what to do. In the time of Sayyidina Mahdi, wherever you struggle now your situation is not going to change: those who are written to die will die, those who are going to stay will stay. Mawlana said 35 years ago that if you are in the middle of an explosion and it is written that you won’t die, you won’t. So don’t be worried too much about what will happen when Sayyidina Mahdi comes!

We have to prepare ourselves, but as Mawlana Shaykh explained just now, if a wali is strong with seven powers, still there is no way can he guarantee safety for any mureed if he is wasting his time after Maghrib on the street or in a movie theater or spending time outside his house! Mawlana wants everyone to be in the house by `Isha, unless you have a valid excuse for social and family relations; not like you go to the doctor to get a prescription when you are not really sick, and there are many people like that. Awliyaullah will not give that prescription (excuse); they are very tough. You will be excused only if you have to go out: you are allowed to visit the sick, or relatives, or to go the mosque, but you are not allowed to go to restaurants or coffee shops after `Isha, then whatever happens is your responsibility. So this is the precaution that we have to take now.

How many people are asking, “Sayyidina Mahdi is coming, so what we have to do?” Sayyidina Mahdi (a) is coming not to scare you, but to take away oppression, as Prophet (s) said, “One of my grandchildren will come to fill this world with justice and remove oppression.” Justice for us is to obey Allah (swt) and Prophet (s) and those on authority. This is our way, the way of Ahlu ’s-Sunnah wa ’l-Jama`ah. We are not politicians, not judges who judge people! We are here to guide and listen to what he says, and to raise our children in nice way.

There are many people to whom Mawlana is asking to say this message, because it is important. There are many people who abuse their wives or beat them. It is true that too many Muslims are beating their wives, and this is domestic abuse. It is never allowed to beat your wife! Sayyidina Mahdi (a) is going to punish them. There are too many in the Muslim community (who do this). They know themselves (who they are), and there are too many doing that. I am saying this because it is important to be patient as it builds a family. To be angry destroys the family. Many of our brothers in tariqah have problems and diffculties, but anger never solves the problem. There are 800 bad characteristics, and anger is the root of all bad characteristics. There are 500 amr bi ’l-ma`roof, to call for good.

One time I was young like you, and I asked Grandshaykh a question. It is bad adab to ask the shaykh a question. People today are asking lot of questions, but it is better to ask the shaykh to pray for you, not to ask a question. And I asked this question of Grandshaykh, may Allah bless his soul, “If there are 800 forbiddens how we can survive, because wherever you go it means there is something wrong?” He said, and still I am hearing it in my ear, “Yaa waladee! If someone will do 500 obligations, rules, good actions, they will be rewarded, but if someone will avoid one forbidden which he is not allowed to do, and he repents, or if he sees something wrong and he tries to prohibit himself from doing it, he will be rewarded with more than 500 good characteristics, because he is pulling back his ego!” To avoid doing one forbidden is worth more than doing all 500 good actions!

I asked Mawlana Shaykh, may Allah give long life, “How can we count that?” He said, “When I was ordered to go to seclusion I was asked to write them.” If you start to count, you can count 50 or 60 maximum, and Mawlana was doing seclusion in Madinatu ‘l-Munawwara. He said, “I counted 187 bad characters.” So imagine how much bad characters we are carrying in ourselves, and we think we are first mureeds or followers of Prophet (s)!

O Muslims! O brothers and sisters! To teach us, Allah (swt) has said:

وَإِنَّكَ لَعَلى خُلُقٍ عَظِيمٍ

wa innaka la-`alaa khuluqin `azheem.

You are of the most exalted character. (al-Qalam, 68:4)

قُلْ إِنَّمَا أَنَا بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُكُمْ

Qul innamaa anaa basharun mithlukum.

Say (O Muhammad), "I am but a man like you.” (al-Fussilat, 41:6)

It means, “Yaa Muhammad! say to them that with all your high station, I perfected you, I gave you everything. ...khuluqin `azheem....with all that tell them...innama anaa basharun.... I am a man, just like you. "

No one can reach that! Even with all awliyaullah grouping together (collectively), it will not become a drop of Prophet’s (s) knowledge! With all that, he said, “I am only a human being.” See all that humility! And we speak about ourselves (as being from) under one shaykh. So as we go out of this door we begin to fight, not everyone, but some. People fight because they cannot control their ego. They want to be bosses and sit on a chair and glue themselves on it. (In that case) Allah (swt) will move you by force, whether you like it or not; one day a Allah will take you out. He took leaders one after one. Allah (swt) is giving us examples. A “terminator” uses machine guns, but Allah did not use machine guns; He whispered in the ears of awliyaullah, “Move them,” and they changed them.

Allah (swt) said:

إِذَا زُلْزِلَتِ الْأَرْضُ زِلْزَالَهَا وَأَخْرَجَتِ الْأَرْضُ أَثْقَالَهَا وَقَالَ الْإِنسَانُ مَا لَهَا

idha zulzilat al-ardu zilzaalahaa wa akhrajati’l-ardu athqaalahaa wa qaalat al-insaanu maa laha..."

When the Earth quakes with her [last] mighty quaking and [when] the Earth yields up her burdens and man cries out, "What is the matter with her?" (az-Zalzala, 99:1-3)

This means there is a shake that does not resemble anything, for example, what happened in Japan. They are saying there was nothing like it, but even that is nothing! What will be inside will come out. That will be like toy in front of what is going to happen. Allah said that when He shakes the earth, the human beings will say, “What is happening, why it is shaking?” When Allah wants it to happen, it will happen! Allah will make the lower one up and the one up to be low; then can anyone ask why?

O Muslims! All of us have to show humility to each other. Don't expect the same humility from your brother; no, show it more than that. (...) Your ego will say, “Why you are showing humility? Don’t care!” But Allah wants you to show humility. If you want to be raised, show humility. To come here is showing humility; it is sign that humility is there, but don’t lose it! Cut that root of anger.

May Allah bless us and may Allah forgive us. Ameen.

Fatihah.
