Suhbah After Zhuhr Salaat

A`oodhu billahi min ash-Shaytaani 'r-rajeem. Bismillahi 'r-Rahmaani 'r-Raheem.

Nawaytu 'l-arba`een, nawaytu 'l-`itikaaf, nawaytu 'l-khalwah, nawaytu 'l-`uzlah,

nawaytu 'r-riyaadah, nawaytu 's-sulook, lillahi ta`ala fee haadha 'l-masjid.

As-salaamu `alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakaatuh to those who are on the Internet and who are here. First of all, we have to say, dastoor yaa Sayyidee, madad! Dastoor yaa Mawlana Shaykh Nazim, madad, and we are asking support from the Prophet (s) because we are speaking about Islam and Islam is the message of Sayyidina Muhammad (s).

I am sorry for the Turkish speakers as I am speaking English, because I don't speak Turkish well. Also, I am sorry I was not here yesterday, but I had some work to do and we finished that. As we said in the previous session, we have to establish a base in order that no one can object.

Some people sent me a message two or three days ago that they were digging deep to make a five-star hotel in Riyadh. They reached a place that was like a grave, and immediately a very nice, beautiful smell came out. Then they tried digging slowly and they found two dead bodies with their kafan, shroud, as if they were just buried, and they had fresh faces. Everything was fresh and if you touched them, they were soft and light was coming from their eyes. They immediately stopped digging. They brought scientists to determine how many years the bodies were there. They discovered it was for more than 300-400 years ago that those two bodies were buried there, next to each other.

Then they mentioned that the head of religious affairs for that area came and looked, and he was amazed because in that area of Riyadh, or anywhere in Saudi Arabia, if you bury someone they decompose in thirty days because of the sun’s heat. So they confirmed that the bodies didn't decompose and said they are “pious people”; they didn't say “awliyaullah,” but they said those are pious people whom Allah (swt) rewarded by preserving their bodies.

Everyone in that area of Riyadh went to visit those graves and the government closed that place. That incident is to establish that awliyaullah do exist and when they die, as the Prophet (s) said:

حياتي خير لكم تحدثون ويحدث لكم ، فإذا أنا مت كانت وفاتي خيرا لكم ، تعرض علي أعمالكم فان رأيت خيرا حمدت الله تعالى وإن رأيت شرا استغفرت لكم

Hayaatee khayrun lakum tuhadithoona wa yuhdatha lakum fa idhaa anaa mitt kaana wafaatee khayran lakum. Tu`radu `alayya `amalakum fa in ra’aitu khayran hamadt 'allah ta`ala wa in ra’itu sharran astaghfarta lakum.

My life is good for you as you will relate from me and it will be related to you, and when I die my passing will be better for you. (Meaning, “My death is better for you than my life, because then I can pray for you.”) I observe your deeds. If I find good I thank Allah, and if I see bad, I ask forgiveness for you. (al-Bazzaar in his Musnad)

So this ummah is an ummah that has been forgiven. Also, there are awliyaullah to whom Allah (swt) has given the ability to see the Prophet (s) in dreams, and even many normal people see the Prophet (s) in dreams, is it not? The Prophet (s) said, “Who saw me in the dream saw me really, saw me right (actually saw me).” So it means whatever you ask in the dream and the Prophet (s) answers is correct, as explained previously.

So awliyaullah experience visions and dreams in which they see the Prophet (s) and they tell the people. I quote from the book Al-`Aqd as-Sameen, in which Sayyidina `Ali (r) said, “Qaala Rasoolullah...” Now you ask me, why did I bring a book and not speak directly? I can speak directly, it is not an issue, but what is the benefit if you don’t quote hadith and the references? You might say I am speaking of imaginary things and calling it “inspirations”! Many people I know do this, and I am not speaking of Mawlana's representatives, but many non-representatives begin to speak and then say it is from the Shaykh. No, you did wrong. Sayyidina Adam (a) said, “What is good is from You and what I did bad is from me.” Iblees said, “What I did wrong is from You.” So don’t say it is a test! If you made a mistake then admit it and ask forgiveness.

So I brought this book so that if people ask they can know, and we are speaking of people on the Internet, because the people here accept whatever I say and they will say, “Yes, that is right.” Some viewers on the Internet don’t accept that; they might be on a different road that is not ours, maybe they have a different Shaykh or they might not accept hadith, if they are “Quraniyoon,” a big group in Egypt that only accepts what is written in the Holy Qur’an and not hadith. That is why we make sure what we say is recorded and then we say in addition to it.

Fi 'l-qawli 'l-badi`ee `an `aliyyin `an an-nabiyy (s) qaala man hajj hajjat al-Islam wa ghazaa ba`dahaa ghazwatan katabat ghazwatahu bi-arba` mi'at hajjah fa-ankasarat quloobi qawmun laa yaqdiroona `alaa al-jihaad fa-awhaa-Llahu ilayhi maa salla `alayka ahadin illa katabat salaatahu bi-arba` mi'at ghazwatin arba` mi'at hajjah.

In the book al-Qawl al-Badi`ee it is related from Sayyidina `Ali (r) that the Prophet (s) said: “Whoever did the obligated Hajj of Islam and after that fought in a battle (of jihad), Allah will write for him 400 pilgrimages. (Upon hearing this) the hearts of those who could not afford to go for jihad were broken, and Allah revealed to Prophet, "None of you makes salawaat on you except that it will be written as if he struggled in the Way of Allah 400 years of jihad and I will reward him 400 pilgrimages."

(Narrated by Abu Hafz in Majalis al-Makkiyya)

At that time there was war between believers and unbelievers, who would have killed Muslims (if they went to Hajj). So the Prophet (s) said, “Who will go for Jihad in the Way of Allah?” Here “jihad” does not mean suicide bombers, which is terrorism and we don’t accept that. He means it will be written for those who go for Jihad in the Way of Allah as those who struggle against unbelievers who are aggressively coming against the Muslims. But also it can mean if you are engaged in a struggle to educate others or to build something good, “it will be written as if you completed 400 Hajj,” as written in the book, The Precious String.

Some people were heartbroken when he said that, because they could not go for Hajj, as Allah (swt) said it is for those who can afford it, so those who could not afford it cried, and then Allah (swt) revealed to the Prophet (s), who said to Sayyidina `Ali (r):

None of you makes salawaat on the Prophet except that it will be written as if he struggled in the Way of Allah 400 years of jihad and I will reward him 400 pilgrimages.

That is for making one salawaat on the Prophet (s)! And also the Prophet (s) said:

Whoever makes salawaat on me, giving me my rights as the Prophet, then Allah will make from his salawaat one angel with one wing in the east and one in the west, that makes istighfaar up to the Day of Judgment.”

That istighfaar and salawaat is written in the book of that person! See how much Allah (swt) is giving for the greatness of the Prophet (s)! Therefore, zayyinoo majaalisakum bi ’dh-dhikr aw salawaat, ornament your gatherings with dhikr or salawaat!

Now we come to something that most Muslims have stopped doing, even among Ahlu ’s-Sunnah wa ’l-Jama`ah. They uphold this custom mostly in the Sub-continent and in very few other countries. When we call the adhaan and we come to, “ash-hadu anna Muhammad ar-Rasoolullah,” how do we put our fingers? You hold your two fingers together, kiss them and say, qurrati `aynee bika yaa rasoolullah, “You are the coolness of my eyes, yaa Rasoolullah!” We put our two fingers like that because they bear witness for us and because this index finger is the finger of shahadah and the other is the thumb, which bears your identity! It is made of points; your fingerprint contains your unique code, the connection of different points in different ways, and no individual’s fingerprint resembles another. Everyone has different points connecting with the thumb and the shahadah finger. So, when you do this you are saying, “Yaa Rabbee! With the name (identity) You gave me, I witness that You are Allah and Sayyidina Muhammad is your Messenger!”

Why do you put your fingers on your two eyes? Today scientists have found that everyone’s iris is unique, so you are witnessing with your eyes (iris) and with your fingers, just as in every marriage you need two witnesses. The iris is a small point, so don’t joke about points and say they don’t exist. There are many people who speak about points laughingly and say they don’t exist, but we must have some awareness and an open mind. We are not Buddhists, but they took their knowledge of points from Islam, which gave everything (of knowledge).

Inna ad-deena `inda Allaahi al-islaam.

The religion in Allah’s view is Islam (submission to His Will). (Aali-`Imraan, 3:19)

Islam is the perfect religion; even Buddhists took from Islam! If they are putting their hands like that, they learned it from Sayyidina Abu Bakr as-Siddiq (r), who kissed his fingers and put them on his eyes! So the iris is a point and it is important to witness on what you are saying. That is why the Prophet (s) recommends to move every finger on every part of your body, because if your body is moved, all the different points of your body will be moved.

Some ask, “From where did you bring this knowledge about points?” I am not bringing it, but the Prophet (s) said this about points. If anyone is using points, like an acupuncturist or a physical therapist, what do they do and why do you go to them? They find points and press on them.

So if you ask for evidence, here is the evidence for those who laugh about it: Aja`z fee Hadith al-Mafasil, The Miracle of the Prophet (s) in the Joints/Points, narrated by Imam Muslim. Also, Grandshaykh (q) and Mawlana Shaykh Nazim (q) said there are five points in the heart: qalb, sirr, sirr as-sirr, khafaa, akhfaa. That is recorded in Naqshbandi books and in books of other tariqahs, all of which know there are seven points on the chest called “lataa’if,” and these tariqahs have mentioned how to move them as the Prophet (s) mentioned it. Here are all the names of the lineage of this hadith of Imam Muslim, that the Prophet (s) said:

Annahu khalaqa kulli insaanin min bani adaam `alaa sitteen wa thalaathat mi’ata mafsal. Faman kabbar-Allaaha wa hamad-Allaaha wa hallala-Allaha wa sabah-Allaha w ’astaghfar-Allaaha wa `azal hajarin `an tareeqi ’n-naas aw shawqatun aw `azhaman min tareeqi ’n-naasi wa amara bi ’l-ma`roof aw nahaa `ani ’l-munkar `adad tilka ’s-sitteen wa thalaathat mi’ata as-sulamee. Fa-innahu yamshee yawmaydhin wa zahzaha nafsahu `ani ’n-naar.

Every one of the children of Adam has been created with 360 joints, so he who declares the Glory of Allah, praises Allah, declares Allah to be One, Glorifies Allah, and seeks forgiveness from Allah, and removes a stone, thorns or bones from the peoples’ path and enjoins what is good and forbids from evil to the number of those 360 joints (points), will walk that day having removed himself from Hell. (Sahih Muslim, Kitaab az-Zakaat)

Allah (swt) created every human being from Adam’s descendants on 360 joints, or points. That was mentioned 1,500 years ago. They have never reached 360. It is still a miracle, so where are the others? Whoever makes takbeer or praises Allah (swt) and makes tasbeeh and removes a stone from the road or anything that might make an accident on the road from the path of people, or who called for good or prevented what is bad every day, takbir, tahmeed, tahleel, istighfaar, on the number of 360 points, will have removed himself that day from Hellfire!

That is the hadith of the Prophet (s), not from me. In the Musnad of Imam Muslim, it is narrated that the Prophet (s) said, Fi ‘l-insaan 360 mifsal, “In the human beings there are 360 points.” Fa `alayhi an yatasadaq `ala kullin minhum sadaqa, “He has to give a sadaqa on every point.” So that is why our shuyookh ordered us to put a box by the door so that when you go out you make sadaqa and when you come in you put sadaqa, for your body. Physical therapists press these points. If you don’t have money to make sadaqa, then do something good, such as help someone or take something from the road or smile in the face of someone as all that is sadaqa.

“What if you cannot do that?” they asked the Prophet (s), and he said, “If you can pray two raka`ats Duha, it is as if you touched these 360 points.” And so we pray two raka`ats Duha and I know you mostly pray four or eight raka`ats, but just two raka`ats will take over all these points. So it is written that if you pray like this, you move all 360 points. That is why prayer in Islam moves your whole body completely. If you pray two raka`ats you move here, here, here, head, hands, etc. And so when you move everything, it as if you are pressing these 360 points.

Some doctors read this hadith and studied the body because they wanted to understand this hadith. So they counted how many points are in the body and they made this list with various categories, and titled it Al-Mafasil al-`Amud al-Fakhdh Walhad. They added all the points throughout the body, and determined in the vertebrae and hips there are 76 points. When people do massage they press on the vertebra and move 76 points. We are not Buddhists and we are not throwing words about points, but the Prophet (s) is teaching us about them. You can see this document with names of the researchers and the totals of points in the body at http://tl.gd/gk2o61‏.

Look at the greatness of the Prophet (s)! We are bringing this information to show the greatness of Sayyidina Muhammad (s), that 1500 years ago he said the body has 360 points, and Buddhists and others did not know about it; they took that knowledge from Islam. That is a miracle of the Holy Qur’an and if we want to go into that, I have a book on that topic, but we cannot elaborate every ayah.

Sanureehim ayaatinaa fi 'l-aafaaq wa fee anfusihim.

We are going to show them Our Signs in the horizons and in themselves. (Surat al-Fussilat, 41:53)

In time of the Prophet (s), he didn’t bring this up but he left it to the end of the ummah, giving us signs... and this is the hadith of the Prophet (s) about points. It is not as if I am bringing it from nowhere, it is a fact. And about the hands, although we don’t say to do that, people kiss their fingertips and put them to their eyes when they hear the Prophet's holy name. My uncle, the Head of Religious Affairs Ministry in Lebanon, did that. We are not following Hindus or Buddhists, so I am sorry if you heard (what we said) wrong, because there are many people who whisper wrong.

I would like to mention this sahih hadith from Sahih Tirmidhi, narrated by Abu Hurayrah (r) that the Prophet (s) said:

Lama khalaqallahu adama massaha zhahrahu fasaqat min zhahrihi kulli nasamatin huwa khaaliqahaa min dhurriyatihi ilaa yawmi’l-qiyaamah. Wa ja`ala bayna `aynay kulli insaanin minhum wabeesan min noor, thumma `aradahum `alaa aadama fa-qaala ay rabb! man haaoolaai? qaala haaoolaai dhurriyatik. Fa-raa’ rajulan minhum fa `ajabahu wabeesun maa bayn `aynayh. Faqaala: ayy rabb! man hadhaa? Faqaala hadha rajulun min akhir al-umami min dhurriyatik yuqqaala lahu dawood. Qaala rabbb kam ja`alta `umrah? Qaala sitteena sannah. Qaala: ayy rabb! zidhu min `umree arba`eena sannah. Falammaa anqada `umruhu adaama jaahu malaku’l-mawti fa-qaala: awa lam yabiq min `umree arba`oona sannah? Qaala awa lam tu`tihaa li-ibnik daawood? Fajahada Adama fa jahada dhurriyatah wa nasiya Adam wa nasiya dhurriyatahu wa khatiyya aadama fakhatiat dhurriyatuh.

When Allah created Adam, He stroked his back, which dripped all that Allah (swt) created up to the Day of Judgment from his offspring (and) all of them came down. And he made between every human being a ray of light that comes out, and then he showed them to Adam. (That is one meaning of the verse, “And He taught Adam the names of all things.” [2:31]) Adam (a) said, “Who are these?” Allah (swt) said, “Those are your offspring.” Adam (a) saw one among them and liked the light coming from his eyes, and he asked, “Who is that one?” Allah (swt) said, “That is a man named Dawood from the last of nations from among your descendants.” He asked, “O my Lord! How many years of life did You give him?” Allah (swt) said, “Sixty years.” Adam (a) said, “O my Lord! Give him forty years from my life to extend his life.” Allah (swt) granted that and it was finished. When the Angel of Death (a) came to Adam (a) to take his soul, he said, “O Azra`eel! Why are you taking my soul, as I still have forty years of life?” The Angel of Death said, “Didn't you ask Allah to give forty years from your life to your son Dawood? That is why it is forty years less.” Adam denied that and his descendants deny, and Adam (as) forgot and his descendants forget and Adam made a mistake and all his descendants make mistakes.

That is why many things don’t stay in our minds. It is good if you don’t remember everything or you would always carry your problems! That is a true and valid hadith.

May Allah (swt) forgive us and may Allah accept us to be with Mawlana Shaykh Nazim, who, in his bed, in his sitting and standing and in his every movement, remembers us and prays for us in the presence of the Prophet (s)! Yaa fawzan li ‘l-mustaghfireen, astaghfirullah.

May Allah bless all of you. This has been to show the Greatness of the Prophet (s) through his ahadith, that after 1500 years people hear what he said, remember it and see it through their own eyes!

Wa min Allahi 't-tawfeeq, bi hurmati 'l-habeeb, bi hurmati 'l-Fatihah.
