Youth Raised in Service to Allah

Mawlana Shaykh Hisham Kabbani

8 March 2013 Washington DC Metro Area

Suhbah at Private Residence (2)

(Suhbah in progress.)

...I see myself, astaghfirullah to say that, I see myself in these young ones when I was their age, how we were running after Grandshaykh, may Allah bless his soul, Sayyidee Shaykh `AbdAllah Fa’iz ad-Daghestani (q). (Mawlana stands.) Yaa Sayyidee, madad. (Mawlana sits.) How much they are being raised on love of Allah and love of Prophet (s), like this one... when I knew him he was like this tall! How much, twenty years now? Then when Mawlana came in 1993, this one arranged for him to meet with the president of Chicago University and he was like their age. Now, mashaa-Allah, he is partner in the company, can you believe that? This is the barakah of Mawlana Shaykh Nazim (q) because he fought all MSA (Muslim Students Association), he and (these three), all of them in different states fought all MSA chapters, and his father was the president of MSA and angry, saying, “How are my children running after this majnoon?”

People were saying to his father, “How do you allow your children to follow this one?”

And his father answered a nice answer, “If I am not with you, I would have been with Shaykh Hisham!” So this is his son.

So, what were we speaking? Young ones are good ones; when you come to tariqah at age sixty, they still accept you, like this one... 1985, the first one to know.

In any case, first on the Day of Judgment, seven people will be forgiven by Allah and the cloud will be covering them with its shade from the heat of the sun, which will come down burning the brain of everyone and you will see the evaporation of that brain coming up as Allah is judging them. Seven of them, yawm yadhilahum Allah Yawm al-Qiyaamah, that Allah will give them shade on their heads for their brain not to burn and one of them is:

شاب نشأ في عبادة الله

Shaabun nashaa fee `ibaadat il-Llah,

One of them is a young man or young woman who was raised up on worshipping (and loving) Allah (swt).

So look at these young ones: they are being raised from their childhood in Allah’s Love, hubbullah, hubbullah `azza wa jall, so you cannot find that today:

قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم : يأتي على الناس زمان القابض على دينه كالقابض على الجمر

Qaala rasoolullah yaatee `ala an-naasi zamaan al-qaabidu `ala deenihi ka’l-qaabidu `alaa al-jamr.

The one holding his religion firmly in his hand is like someone holding a burning coal. (Tirmidhi)

People today cannot control themselves, but those young ones (Az-Zahra Ensemble) are controlling themselves! Subhaan-Allah, how they can do that? We have to keep encouraging them, that’s why I say to them (sing) more songs and more songs and more songs, although some people say that ladies cannot recite in front of men! That’s true, but it is a small sin, and you have to balance everything in this time as to accomodate them is better than to let them run on the street wild, is it not? Which is better? The wildness on the street or songs in mosques or in centers? There is no resemblance!

So when they are busy in hubbullah, love of Allah (swt), Allah will give them a shade in the Day of Judgment when everyone’s head is burning. So it is good what they are doing and we say to them, “Do more!” Is it not? (Ameen!) And young ones, if your voice is not so good, never mind, recite Qur`an one page a day. Someone who doesn’t know how to read, like this one who is on the plane everyday and we don’t see him, but he has his telephone with him or iPad and reading Qur`an.

Take that example. There is a fatwa that the mobile phone is haraam because you can have anything in it and at the same time you enter the bathroom with it and many Muslims have the adhaan on it, hadith on it, Dalaa’il al-Khayraat on it, so how are they entering bathrooms with it? True? True, but, Prophet (s) said:

يسروا ولا تعسروا

Yassiroo wa laa tua`ssiroo.

Make everything easy and don’t make it difficult.

So if it is not open and you cannot see anything, and also what you are seeing is a virtual image of the real image, so the image is not the real one, some scholars say it is okay and you can do it. So young ones who cannot recite, they can say, “Subhaan-Allah wa bihamdi, subhaan-Allahi ’l-`azheem, astaghfirullah.” Can anyone say, “I can’t do that?” No! Say it now:

Subhaan-Allah wa bihamdi, subhaan-Allahi ’l-`azheem, astaghfirullah.

Subhaan-Allah wa bihamdi, subhaan-Allahi ’l-`azheem, astaghfirullah.

Subhaan-Allah wa bihamdi, subhaan-Allahi ’l-`azheem, astaghfirullah.

That’s why Prophet (s) said, “Two words that are very light, I’m giving you a light thing to carry,” like the one that we mentioned today, who came to Prophet (s) and said, “All these principles of Islam are too much (to follow); give me something easy!” And Prophet (s) said, “Keep your tongue wet with dhikrullah.” It is very easy to say, “Laa ilaaha illa-Llah,” and to say, “Allah, Allah, Allah.” Is it easy or not? That’s enough to put you under Allah’s Shade on the Day of Judgment that He will send over mu’mins!

And do you think Allah is not merciful? When He shades one, He doesn’t shade the other? For the barakah of that one’s sake He will shade everyone! But we go with Shari`ah, yawman laa dhillan illa zhilluh, “there is no shade except His shade.” Not His shadow, but He sends shade on those people He loves: young ones, those who are carrying coal in their hands, burning their hands for Allah’s love and Allah is happy with their love.

And young ones become old ones! He was raised on that from his childhood and all his family, his children, because of him and their mother, are all raised on that from childhood, so Allah (swt) will shade them, and may Allah shade all of us for the barakah of Prophet (s)!

Bi hurmati 'l-habeeb, bi hurmati 'l-Fatihah.
