(Suhbah in progress.) ...O Allah! Make us among lovers of Sayyidina Muhammad (s).

Habib Shaykh asked me, “Are you not tired?” and I said, “No,” and he asked me, “Are you angry?” and I said, “No.” We say alhamdulillah that Allah made us from Ummat an-Nabi (s) and perfected us, where it is said: Bushara lana ma`shara ‘l-islaami, “Good tidings to us Muslims,” inna lana min al-inayat ruknan ghayra munhadimi, “We have a pillar that will never be destroyed.” He has been dressed with a protection that never be destroyed, and that is Sayyidina Muhammad (s)!

(Excerpt from al-Burdat ash-Sharifah.)

Bushra lana ma`ashar al-islaami/al-insaani fa-inna lanaa min al-`inaayaati ruknan ghayra munhadimi.

Where Allah addressed Sayyidina Muhammad (s) in Holy Qur'an as ‘Yaseen,’ good tidings for us, O throngs of human beings, for we have of an indestructible pillar of support (in Prophet Muhammad [s]).

Habib Shaykh asked me, he saw me sitting and thinking: “Are you not tired?” and I said, “No,” and he asked me, “Are you sad?” and I said, “No.” He said, “Then what is going wrong with you?” I said, “Nothing.” He looked at me and he was not convinced with what I am saying. I didn't say anything to him, but I said only, “No,” because when you hear the name of the Prophet (s) you feel attracted to the name. Some, they can be attracted to the name because it is a lovely name, that Allah called him “Muhammad” (s). Some will be attracted because they feel his presence, and some will be attracted because they see him. We are not claiming that we see the Prophet (s). We are not claiming that we feel his presence, but we can say that yes, his name fills us with joy and contentment because he is Rasool al-Mahabbah, the “Messenger of Love.”

And I don’t hide from you I was feeling his presence through the recitation of these qasaa’id as the Prophet (s) was looking at us, looking at everyone, those who are reciting and those who are sitting, filling the majlis with Noor al-Mustafa (s). And when you are under Noor al-Mustafa you will never see hard days in Akhirah, and you will see you are sent to Paradise with no account for the love of Prophet (s)!

If someone honorable comes, everyone stands up and everyone wants to be saying salaams to him, everyone wants for him to look in their eyes and they will say, “O, I met an honorable person.” If a minister comes, all of us stand up to respect him. Amir Hamza came and we stood up for him, respecting him. What if the president comes? Then we all stand up and not only that, we will rush to greet him. If he is a good president or a bad president, just for the name of the president everyone rushes to him. What do you think about when you mention the name of Muhammad? All the people of Paradise, all angels will be in joy, will be in contentment, will be happy, will be making salawaat with us, because the people of Earth are making salawaat, respecting the name of the Prophet (s)!

What do you think if he looks at us, what happens in our hearts? What kind of Light Allah will put from the look of Prophet (s) in the heart of those who are celebrating and making salawaat on him? The qasaa’id that they are reciting has not been put by someone who has no mind, it has been written by those awliyaullah that respect and love the Prophet (s)! What great benefit and what great people who are making us to hear these qasaa'id in a beautiful voice that that voice can reach Eternity; it can reach to the Day of Judgment. If we leave here, that recitation will continue up to the Day of Judgment and their souls will be here, the same as they are sitting and that like a video camera being taken for everyone sitting and listening to qasaa'id. In the Day of Judgment, these qasaa'id come in front of the Prophet (s), saying, "Yaa Rasoolullah! They were reciting salawaat on you.” What do you think the Prophet (s) will do? He will say, “Yaa Rabb ishfa` lahum, yaa Rabbee shaf`eenee fihee,” and they will be sent to Paradise!

Toobaa lanaa, bushraa lanaa yaa ma`ashar al-insaani inna lanaa min al-ruknu ghayra munhadimi (Arabic du`a.) Good tidings to all humanity for what Allah has created for the honor of the Prophet (s)! That is good tidings for us, for all humanity, that the Prophet (s), The Beloved One, has been sent to you. They say, Allah “chose” the Prophet (s)! That is not befitting the Prophet's (s) honor as Allah did not choose; did He line up and put all the prophets in front of Him and then say, “I choose Muhammad (s)?” But Allah has dressed him with endless dressings in His Presence, that he was a prophet before any Creation, that iraadatullah where Allah created his Light and put it in Bahr al-Qudra, and from him that Qudrah, that Ocean of Power, Allah created Creation with the noor of Muhammad (s)!

As-sawt laa yaqif laysa lahu hudood, daaiman fee taqadam la yanqati` dhaak as-sawt. In Physics, sound does not stop. If we say here, “Muhammad,” if I say, “Muhammad (s),” that sound wave, that magnetic wave will continue, as the voice is an example of a wavelength. So you say, “Muhammad,” the wave continues to say, “Muhammad, Muhammad, Muhammad, Muhammad….” That is like an echo and that echo of the name of Muhammad will never stop, and it will continue reciting what they are reciting up to the Day of Judgment! Anyone who has an earset, when you put on your earphones you can hear the voice, then take off the earphones and you don’t hear it. So that sound keeps moving, keeps repeating and every time it repeats it is written for them as reward. Like the echo goes, it is written each time the name of Muhammad is mentioned, and these qasaa'id will be echoing, echoing up to Judgment Day. The next day, if Habib Shaykh recites another qasaa'id and the name of Muhammad is being mentioned, those qasaa'id will be echoing until the Day of Judgment and those who have special kind of ears can hear it, as mentioned in the hadith:

My servant does not cease to approach Me through voluntary worship until I will love him. When I love him, I will become the ears with which he hears, the eyes with which he sees, the hand with which he acts, and the legs with which he walks (and other versions include, “and the tongue with which he speaks.”). (Hadith Qudsi, Bukhari)

Allah will give you a hearing that you can hear every moment the name of Muhammad (s), because there is nothing in this universe, nothing in the wujood, nothing that Allah has created except the name of Muhammad! He is the one on top of everything! What do you think about his soul, his noor, his body? Allahu Akbar. If his name, wara fa`na laka dhikrak, if his name has been raised up, what do you think about his body? That is `Ilm Mukhasas bi ‘l-Awliya, knowledge only for awliyaullah. We know only the name, but we cannot understand the reality of Muhammadun Rasoolullah, it is impossible.

I don’t want to praise him (Habib Shaykh), but I say the fact: to Akhirah, Judgment, he brought all these young people to love of the Prophet (s), he was the catalyst. You know he was the first one to bring Mawlid an-Nabi (s) to Malaysia? It is not easy to have fifty thousand, forty thousand, twenty thousand people coming to listen to him; there must be something special in his heart, there must be a secret in his heart, there must be a light in his heart that is attracting people to come, and that light is Sayyidina Muhammad (s)! That light is what is attracting the youth. Look at these (attendees); he brought them from everywhere, he got them and trained them, and now they are ambassadors for Prophet (s), carrying the flag of Prophet (s)! Which is better, dunya or Akhirah? That is Akhirah, we are now in a Paradise of Akhirah, we are not seeing it but it is there, because the name of Muhammad (s) has been mentioned here and the presence of the Prophet (s), if he wants, he may appear here or he may look here or he can mention us, he can observe what we are doing.

Why are our souls connected? His soul, my soul, why are they connected? Because we have one grandfather, the same one: Sayyidina Muhammad (s). We are begging and asking Allah, “Yaa Rabbee, keep the Muslim ummah together, keep the mu’mins together, keep the grandchildren of the Prophet (s) together, keep the qasaa'id in our hearts, heavenly qasaa'id that we listen to every moment.”

Let us be fair also, let us be fair: all those mashaykh or ahbaab an-Nabi (s) or ahfazh an-Nabi, the grandchildren of the Prophet (s), or the lovers of Prophet (s), or those shuyookh, they are doing their best, like Amir Hamza, like many others; they are bringing people to love of the Prophet (s). This is the door to Heaven, the love of the Prophet (s), this is your window to Heaven, the love of the Prophet (s), this is your palace in Heaven, the love of Prophet (s)!

Qul in kuntum tuhibboona 'Llaaha fattabi`oonee yuhbibkumullaahu wa yaghfir lakum dhunoobakum w 'Allaahu Ghafooru 'r-Raheem.

Say (O Muhammad), "If you (really) love Allah, then follow me! Allah will love you and forgive your sins, and Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. (Surat Aali-`Imraan, 3:31)

“If you want to love Allah then follow me, Allah will love you.” It is an obligation then to follow the Prophet (s), not only by words, aqwaal, but it is an action. What is the action here? What is the hidden meaning behind the verse “Fatabi`oonee, follow Muhammad (s)?” Shari`ah is well-known, open, that anyone can read a book and understand how to obey the Prophet (s), but the ayah says, “Fatabi`oonee, ittiba` an-Nabi (s).” The Prophet (s) is in Mi`raaj in every moment, he is not stopping in his Ascension. It is `urooj, a never-ending ascension. Then it means (Prophet is saying), “Follow me in that Mi`raaj. Hold me! I will take you with me. I will take you with the `urooj in which I am going higher and higher, as in every moment I am moving, Allah (swt) is raising me!”

Wara fa`na laka dhikrak means that never ends! Prophet is rising up, up, up...that is `urooj, not mi`rajun waahid, not one Mi`raaj but many, an infinite number of Mi`raaj. If we follow, the Prophet (s) will put us in his Ma`arij. Qul yaa Muhammad, “Say to them, if you really love Allah, Allah will put you with His servants.” Fatabi`oonee, love all servants of Allah, then follow the Prophet (s) in his Mi`raaj, follow the Mi`raajs that Allah gave him. “Hold me like an engine pulling wagons, hundreds of wagons,” all of them behind the main engine, the locomotive. The Prophet (s) is not a locomotive! Heavenly power is with him that takes you in a moment to the Divine Presence and Mi`raaj begins there, from the Divine Presence, not from dunya only.

Al-walad yattabi` waalidahu, the child runs after his father. We have to run after the Prophet (s), and alhamdulillah Habib Shaykh and Amir Hamza and many others are making us to be in the Mi`raaj when they are reciting qasaa'id that will cause the Mi`raaj to begin, even at the lowest level, but alhamdulillah we are sitting there waiting for us to be raised up with the Mi`raaj of the qasaa'id, with mentioning the name of Prophet (s)! Whenever you mention the name of the Prophet (s), you will be in a Mi`raaj, you will be raised up, you will be lifted due to the love of Sayyidina Muhammad (s)!

Allahumma salli `alayka, yaa Sayyidee, yaa Rasoolullah, yaa Rahmatan li ’l-`Alameen, yaa Shafee` al-Mudhnibeen!
