Do Not Underestimate the Power of Sayyidina Muhammad (s)

Mawlana Shaykh Hisham Kabbani

14 February 2015 Montreal, Quebec, Canada

Pre-Zhuhr Suhbah at a Private Residence (2)

A`oodhu billahi min ash-Shaytani ‘r-rajeem. Bismillahi 'r-Rahmani 'r-Raheem.

When the Prophet (s) was in Qaaba Qawsayni aw Adnaa, we said it two days ago, Allah (swt) gave the Prophet (s) a Trust and said to him, “Yaa Muhammad! Do you accept that trust I am giving to you and to give it back to Me on the Day of Judgment?” And the Prophet (s) looked and it was the Ummah, Ummat an-Nabi (s)! Allah is giving him the whole Creation; Ummat al-Nabi is the whole Creation! There is Ummat ad-Da`wah, those who heard about Islam but they didn’t accept, and the Ummat al-Ijaaba are the people, like this lady, who heard about Islam and gave Shahadah just now, “the Ummah that accepted.” They accepted even if late [in life]. Look how Islam is honoring people. The Prophet (s) said:

الاسلام يجب ما قبله

Islam takes away what came before it. (Ahmad)

Islam will take away whatever you did before Shahadah and before you became Muslim, everything before that is forgiven and waived completely. So that lady is as if she was born now--with no sin, as it is waived completely. Look how much Islam honors people who enter Islam peacefully and die peacefully, not like those who enter Islam and become extremists, as we see now in the news.

There are two types of extremists: extremists in fighting and extremists in their belief, `aqeedah. We ask Allah to give us different styles, different ways of belief that are peaceful and harmonious beliefs with everyone, with Muslims and non-Muslims.

إِنَّكَ لَا تَهْدِي مَنْ أَحْبَبْتَ وَلَـٰكِنَّ اللَّـهَ يَهْدِي مَن يَشَاءُ

Truly you cannot guide whom you love, rather Allah guides whom He wills. (Surat al-Qasas, 28:56)

These people are coming against that ayah when they are killing people who do not want to be Muslim. But Allah said to the Prophet (s), “You cannot guide whom you like but I guide whom I like.” Allah guides whom He likes. It is not the decision of any group or extremist organisation. No, it is the decision of Allah (swt). Either Allah guides or He does not guide. If He doesn’t guide you, don't interfere with them. Allah will judge. It is not in your hands to judge people.

There are those who are extreme in `Aqeedah, they are not violent, but their `Aqeedah is wrong. We say, may Allah guide them. And there are a group of people who have not accepted Islam, but they are sympathetic to Muslims. Allah knows best what will happen to them, but we think Allah is Merciful. Inshaa-Allah they will be guided and Allah's Mercy comes on them. Therefore, never try to say, “If that one is non-Muslim, he is an enemy.” No, the Prophet (s) made treaties with many non-Muslims and they lived together in al-Madinah as long as they paid taxes. Like today, you live in a country and they require you to pay taxes, which Islam said is 2.5 % of your wealth, and you pay your taxes and you live like everyone. If you don’t pay your tax, then you have a problem.

So Islam is open so wide to accept everyone in a city that is welcoming! In some countries they welcome you and they give you everything, even if you don't have money, they give you money. So do you fight them? You don’t fight them.

(More people arrive) Alhamdulillah, we are in this house, it is big and the hearts of the people are big so it can fit everyone. We are in Montreal.

So Allah (swt), He said to His Prophet (s), “I am giving you a Trust, do you accept?” This is Grandshaykh `Abdullah al-Fa'iz ad-Daghestani’s (q) message and lecture that he made a long time ago. “Do you accept My Trust that I am giving you to carry?”

We did indeed offer the Trust to the Heavens and the Earth and the mountains, but they refused to undertake it, being afraid, but Man undertook it. Lo! He has proved a tyrant and a fool.

(Surat al-Ahzaab, 33:72)

“We offered the Trust to Heavens and Earth, they were not able to carry it.” Human beings carried it but they did not know they had to deliver it, give it back clean with no dust on it. If you have a jewel, you always keep it clean and in a safe, you do not put it between the feet of people, but now we are putting our Trust between the feet of people. The Trust Allah gave us, we are not giving it respect. So He created us and He knew that we are not going to give that Trust back as it was given to us. So when Allah called His Beloved One, Sayyidina Muhammad (s), to Qaaba Qawsayni aw Adnaa, to the nearness of two bows’ length, to the Divine Presence, Allah (swt) offered to the Prophet (s) to carry that Trust, the Ummah. As we said, there is Ummat ad-da`wah and Ummat al-ijaaba, the Ummah that accepted the religion and the Ummah that did not yet accept it, but inshaa-Allah they will accept. Allah knows better. So Allah gave a Trust, Ummat an-Nabi, to the Prophet (s) and when he looked, he saw his Ummah was very clean, honored, Allah sent mercy on them, and they were in peace and happiness like angels when Allah offered the Trust to the Prophet (s). That is as Grandshaykh (q) mentioned from the secrets of Qaaba Qawsayni aw Adnaa. We mentioned it as he said. We do not ask, “how” or “when?”, we quoted what they said as they are the Trustworthy Ones in the religion.

He offered and the Prophet (s) looked and saw a very clean Ummah, everyone performed what he had to perform. At that moment the Prophet (s) said, “Yaa Rabbee, I accept,” then he took and embraced the Ummah, embraced everyone, and opened for them Oceans of Mercy.

وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَاكَ إِلَّا رَحْمَةً لِّلْعَالَمِينَ

(O Muhammad!) We have sent you not except as a Mercy for all the Worlds. (Surat al-Anbiyaa, 21:107)

“We have sent you as a Mercy for humanity.” From that Ocean of Mercy that Allah opened for the Prophet (s), he opened to the Ummah, looking at them very clean, shining like jewels, like stars shining on a dark night. So what would he say? He accepted. As soon as he said, “Yes, na`am, yaa Rabbee, I am accepting,” Allah (swt) opened for him knowledge of what everyone would do in dunya. There was no one who was clean except Prophets, Sahaabat an-Nabi (s), all of the Companions of Prophet (s), and Awliyaullah, the rest have sins and problems, and difficulties on them; there is no more whiteness there, there is no more purity there, you see darkness on them according to their `amal.

At that time the Prophet (s) said, “Yaa Rabbee! That is not what I took.”

Allah said, “No, that is the Ummah and you promised to give them back to Me clean. I want them back as I gave them to you the first time. You said ‘yes’ when I gave them to you the first time.”

Allah wants to show the Ummah the greatness He gave to His Prophet (s), that is why He said:

أَلَمْ نَشْرَحْ لَكَ صَدْرَكَ وَوَضَعْنَا عَنكَ وِزْرَكَ

Have We not expanded for you your breast? And We removed from you your burden.

(Surat ash-Sharh, 94:1-2)

“We expanded your chest,” meaning, “We made you so happy.” When someone is happy, we say his chest is open, is it not? “We made you happy,” is it not enough? Because when he said, “Yaa Rabbee! I cannot, they are too heavy on me,” Allah took pity on the Prophet (s). He is Rahmatan li ’l-`Alameen, so Allah gave him more rahmah when he said that, He expanded his chest. Wa wada`na `anka wizrak, “We took all the wizr from you.” The wizr is not from the Prophet (s) as he is ma`soom, infallible, so it is the wizr of the Ummah, when the Prophet (s) was worried about how he is going to return the Ummah clean to Allah. If Allah will not relieve him of that burden, no one can. Allah put Laa ilaaha illa-Llah Muhammadun Rasoolullah, His Name beside the name of Prophet (s)!

وَرَفَعْنَا لَكَ ذِكْرَكَ

And We have elevated your remembrance! (Surat ash-Sharh, 94:4)

First of all, wa wada`na `anka wizrak, “We have taken away all the wizr, all the sins that you are afraid of, We took them away.”

الَّذِي أَنقَضَ ظَهْرَكَ

That weighed so heavily on your back. (Surat ash-Sharh, 94:3)

“[The burden] that was so heavy on you, you were feeling that load of sins your Ummah will do and it will become darkness,” like what we are seeing today. “We took away that heavy load on you in Maqaam Qaaba Qawsayni aw Adnaa,” in the Mi`raaj when the Prophet (s) saw what is going to happen to the Ummah up to the Day of Judgment. After He cleaned the Ummah, Allah took away their wizr, that heavy load that the Prophet (s) was seeing, that heavy load he was carrying, the sins they were doing, and Allah cleaned all of that, and what did He do? He raised His Prophet (s) more and more and said wa rafa`naa laka dhikrak, “Because you asked for your Ummah, you did not leave them and say, ‘Who cares for them? I am going for myself,’”

Grandshaykh (q) gave a very deep explanation on that issue, Grandshaykh (q) said it, not me, and I didn't hear it from Mawlana Shaykh Nazim (q), but I heard it from Grandshaykh (q). It is very important, he said...Allahu Akbar...that on the Day of Judgment, the Prophet (s) fidaa’an li ’l-Ummah, for the sake of the Love of Allah (swt) to His Creation, he will dress all his Ummah; in whatever Allah has dressed him he will apply to the Ummah. Everyone will get a share from the Noor an-Nabi (s), the Light of the Prophet (s)! He will dress everyone with everything that Allah has given him from beginning to end! He will dress his Ummah and the Ummah will become shining with what Prophet (s) is dressing them and he (s) will be waiting for Allah's Mercy, because then he dressed everything on his Ummah and Allah dresses him with His Beautiful Names and Attributes. That is why when he asks, it is accepted immediately. According to the Hadith of Bukhari (q), that’s why he goes into sajda and asks Allah in du`a that was never opened to his heart before.

Allah revealed the Holy Qu’ran, Allah revealed the Hadith to the heart of the Prophet (s), but that time Allah reveals du`as have never been revealed before, the way He reads it, the way He pronounces it, the way He uses letters; they are the same letters as today, Arabic letters, but with different meanings in different words, as new words came that no one ever expected. What Allah said in the Holy Qur’an, ‘Kaaf. Haa. Yaa. `Ayn. Saad’ and ‘Alif. Laam. Meem’ they have meanings. `Ulama say they have an infinite number of meanings on these muqatta`at, words done by letters. We don’t know the meanings, Allah knows the meanings. Because He revealed them to the Prophet (s), he knows the meanings of what Allah wants him to know. So Allah opened to his heart du`as which we know are Arabic, because lughat al-Jannat al-`Arabiyya, the language of Paradise is Arabic, so these words are made of letters that we don’t know and no one knows these du`as. Prophet (s) will make sajda and ask Allah (swt) through these du`as that Allah opens to his heart for the first time, then Allah will tell him, “Raise your head.”

ارفع رأسك سل تعطى

Raise your head and ask, you will be granted. (al-Adab al-Mufrad by Bukhari)

“Raise your head, ask; I will give you.” What is Prophet's concern? The Ummah!

And the Prophet (s) asked, “Yaa Rabbee, give me my Ummah.” Allah will give to the Prophet (s) and one-third of the Ummah will go to Paradise with no account. That is a sahih Hadith in Sahih al-Bukhari: one-third of the Ummah, no questions, not one word! “Go to Paradise.” So, where are people, are they not understanding this Hadith that with shafa`ah of the Prophet (s) that everyone of his Ummah goes to Paradise? He goes into sajda a second time and asks and Allah opens du`a different to the first time and Allah will say to him, “Raise your head, I give you what you ask for.” He says, “Yaa Rabbee, give me the remainder, two-thirds.” “Okay, take one more third.” So the second third, the half of what is left, go to Paradise with no account. And then he goes into sajda another time:

وَلَسَوْفَ يُعْطِيكَ رَبُّكَ فَتَرْضَى

Wa la sawfa yu`teeka Rabbuka fa tardaa.

And verily, your Lord will give you (all good) so that you will be well-pleased. (Surat al-Duha, 93:5)

Sawfa, that is future tense, “Your Lord will give you, yaa Muhammad, until you are satisfied.” And the Prophet (s) will never be satisfied until the Ummah is saved, he loves his Ummah; Allah gave him that love as Allah as loves the Prophet (s) and His Prophet (s) loves Allah (swt) and the Ummah loves Allah because they are within the Light of Prophet (s). The Prophet (s) will say, “I want the remainder, that last group,” and Allah will say send them all to Paradise except one, He keeps him, He says, “Take everyone except this one,” Allah knows best, but the hadith continues and says that Allah looks at that , `abd and says, “Who put that mercy in the heart of My Prophet (s)? It is Me! My Prophet (s) does not have the Ocean of Mercy, I have the Ocean of Mercy. You go to Paradise also.”

So that Trust which Allah gave to the Prophet (s) and he has to deliver it clean back, so the Prophet (s) said, “Yaa Rabbee! Give me helpers,” to help him until the Day of Judgment, because in every century and in every time new people are coming and some people going until Judgment Day. Don’t think the Day of Judgment is far. If you accomodate your life as if you are in the Judgment Day, as if the Signs of the Time that will come for Judgment Day, you will be given the reward that you were observing what will happen on Judgment Day, because if everyone knew that tomorrow will be the Day of Judgment then everyone would be praying, so if you in your heart say, “Yaa Rabbee, Day of Judgement, Signs of the Last Days, I am preparing myself,” you will be written as if you are really on Judgment Day and Allah will reward you for that waiting and observing.

So Allah gave His Prophet (s), when he said, “I need helpers,” first Allah gave him his Sahaabah (r), the Companions of the Prophet (s) 124,000. And every Sahaabi, as Ibn `Abbas said, is at the foot of a prophet. Ya`nee everyone receives barakah from the Prophet (s) and from a prophet, because there are 124,000 prophets. And after that He gave him 124,000 Awliya that will take care of guiding the Ummah. At that time the Prophet (s) was happy! That is why when they were migrating from Mecca to Madinah they went to Ghaar ath-Thawr; why did they go there? Not because they were afraid of unbelievers, the enemy; no, something was going to happen there: the beginning of the Naqshbandi Sufi Order; that Prophet (s) ordered Sayyidina `Abdul-Khaliq al-Ghujdawani (q) with what Allah has given him of the secret of Khatm al-Khawajagan to perform it there.

All Naqshbandis, whoever even sat in Naqshbandi dhikr, was there and will be called ‘Naqshbandis’ because Allah is happy with this chain and with these Naqshbandis. There were too many Awliya among the Naqshbandis, that’s why there are 7007 Naqshbandi shaykhs that come from two sides, from Sayyidina Abu Bakr as-Siddiq (r) and from Sayyidina `Ali (r). That is why it’s called ‘the Golden Chain’, because it comes from two sides. These Awliyaullah present their followers every day in Salaat an-Najaat or in Salaat at-Tasbeeh clean to the Prophet (s). They carry that responsibility and they will be questioned by the Prophet (s) every night when they deliver.

Don't, don’t...belittle or under-estimate the Prophet's power: he can receive all of them in the same moment and every one of them can speak with him separately at the same time! I will give you an example from dunya; if that is happening in dunya can it not happen with the heart of the Prophet (s)?

If you are in Montreal, New York, California, Saudi Arabia, Mecca, Madinah, or Muslim countries, and millions of people have letters to be sent out; how fast are these letters separated? Millions of letters at the same time. Envelopes will be dispatched to different destinations, correct? How can this happen? Did you think about it? How does this machine made by human beings, with that barcode they are able to dispatch all those envelopes, let us say to New York. How many millions are in New York? Let us say there are 15 million people in New York and let us say 5 million letters or more are dispatched each day. How can they be dispatched at the same time and reach their destinations? If that is an invention by human beings, what do you think about the Creation of Allah (swt)? Will He not give power to His Awliya? Will He not make them meet His Prophet (s) every day?

There are 124,000 Walis around the world, known and unknown, all given different responsibilities to carry the burdens of people around the world. You accept a machine to do that, but you don't accept for the Prophet (s) and his Awliya to do more than that? They have machines, angels, not like dunya machines. They don't do just 5 million, they are observing 6 billion human beings at the same time and the Prophet (s) is observing them at the same time, the whole world! A machine can look at 5 or 10 million in one center and in another place and another place. Until now, I don't understand how these machines work, but it is an invention by human beings, engineers. Is there a doubt about the power of the Prophet (s)? That is why he (s) said, “I observe the `amal of my Ummah: I look at them, I observe what they are doing, I hear them, I feel them, I am with them.” If the Prophet (s) is with someone, will that one be out of his mercy?

Allah (swt) said:

وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَاكَ إِلَّا رَحْمَةً لِّلْعَالَمِينَ

(O Muhammad!) We have sent you not except as a Mercy for all the Worlds. (Surat al-Anbiyaa, 21:107)

“We have sent you as a mercy for human beings.” So we must not underestimate the Prophet's powers!

وَلَسَوْفَ يُعْطِيكَ رَبُّكَ فَتَرْضَى

Wa la sawfa yu`teeka rabbuka fa tardaa.

And verily, your Lord will give you (all good) so that you shall be well-pleased. (Surat al-Duha, 93:5)

This means, “I am not going to stop giving you until you say, ‘I am satisfied.’” If he says, “I am not satisfied,” Allah will give him more. If he says, "I am satisfied," will Allah stop when He makes His Prophet happy? And the Prophet (s) will ask more for the whole Ummah!

May Allah (swt) dress us with His Mercy and His Maghfirah. We ask for unity, not for separation. Those trying to make separation, I will say to you that you are mistaken. Don't make fitna, especially where you are. We saw what was posted today and you are trying to convince people to make fitna. You are trying to make Shaykh Mehmet to fall into the trap of fitna. Please stop that. That is not for you, that is for someone on a lower level as Shaykh Mehmet said in his video, that is for low-level mureeds to do fitna. Don’t come from up and do fitna. It is not fair and it is not good for you and for your respect. People will know the truth later and they will know that you were behind the fitna.

May Allah forgive us. Wa ‘s-salaam `alaykum wa rahmatullaahi wa barakaatuh.

Wa min Allahi 't-tawfeeq, bi hurmati 'l-habeeb, bi hurmati 'l-Fatihah.
